Learning Journal #5
Learning Journal #5 was one of my more favorable ones because in a society we live in today, we could relate to these topics. Discussion five discussed the history of pirated music. We know that it is illegal till this day to pirate music but majority of people still continue to download these files. I think it's crazy that the originator of pirating music (Napster) was one of the few who got sued tremendously while other file sharing websites continue to grow and gain users. When I was watching the videos of people being questioned I noticed that a significant amount of the people were adolescent or young minded. I feel as if that reflects on the answers the audience receives because it's revolved around one age group
In this lesson, image optimization was a required for a numerous amount of assignments. Image optimization allows you to edit a photo. You can change the size, sharpness, colors, and the file size to allow you to upload much faster! Tools such as Webresizer and Photoshop allow you to adjust these changes. Here is an example below..
Image Optimization: The process of image slicing and resolution reduction. This is done to make file sizes smaller so images will load faster.
Intelligent Virtual Assistant: delivers personalized, effortless customer service via a human-like conversational interface

Learning Journal 4
Learning module four discusses about our recent projects that reflect how current users of technology display presentations for businesses. The tool Glogster helps create presentations to present to other people. The tool was very easy to use and also organizing our train our thoughts was quite simple. I also felt that I could of wrote a lot more than I put down due to the fact that the display of the program should of been much bigger. For my presentation, we discussed how "YouTube" plays a huge role in the world today. Most people don't realize that in a society we live in today have low attention spans in which visuals are much easier to comprehend than someone else just talking. The video below displays how to setup a account as well as how to use Glogster correctly.
Other people's projects were very presentable as well. They used applications such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Skype etc. Most of those tools I use on a daily basis to promote my business. People used demographics, videos, pictures and hyperlinks to help present. My group personally used Jing in order to discuss our project. We thought it was easier to capture our screen and show people what you can actually do instead of just talking about it just to grab the audiences attention. Here is an example. http://astogner19.edu.glogster.com/youtubeglog

Learning Journal 3
Learning module three discusses about our digital footprints as well as the skills and knowledge about technology. Digital footprints may have a huge impact on our lives. Digital footprints consists of our online reputation. It evaluates what kind of people we're in the twenty first century. It regulates whether we qualify for a job, education or simply our actions. I simply regret a lot of the things I have posted in the past because I do have a friend who got declined multiple jobs due to the fact that he had a lot of photographs of him partying. I wish I could take back a lot of the things I have posted on social media sites in the past so it won't effect my future. It has also came to my attention that most people who are active users on websites such as Facebook and Twitter post hundreds of status's a week.
Besides the negatives of social media sites, there are also some benefits for the Internet. When researching information about topics you can narrow your searches by using certain databases. Databases have a lot of hidden information that sometimes may be unavailable through web browsers. Information may be broken down by articles, interviews and even short segments. Examples of very well and useful databases are Academic One File, EBSCO, and General One File.
Life and Career and Media and Technology Skills are required for the 21st Century in order to get a job in this field. Everybody knows about social media nowadays but you need to be an active user. Using websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and even YouTube. You should be able to use certain tools such as Jing, Bityl, and Delicious. People also use programs such as Skype, Oovoo and FaceTime to communicate to other people or businesses. People also use e-mails to communicate with other people. People use g-mail, roadrunner, yahoo, and aol.

Learning Journal #2
It's only been 5 weeks and I've been adapting pretty well in reguards of all my classes, showing up to class and completing homework assigments.Using programs such as Jing & Wordle are very usful. I remember watching Youtube videos in the past of people doing voice overs with screen casted videos and I was so curious on how they did that. I feel as if programs such as Jing are the future for our generation. You take 5 minutes out of your time to either show someone how to do something or even to show that you're seeking for help. Wordle is very different and actually simplistic. You list a bunch of words that have to do with a certain topic or not. Based on how many times you type that word, the word may get bigger or smaller. I also learned that there are programs that deceivers each address into its IP Address.
IP Address: a unique string of numbers separated by periods that identifies each computer using the Internet Protocol to communicate over a network. Word Cloud: A tag cloud or word cloud (or weighted list in visual design) is a visual depiction of user-generated tags, or simply the word content of a site, typically used to describe the content of web sites Jing: Screen capturing & screen shots

The Beginning
It's only been less than three weeks of my first year of college & I've already experienced a lot. After the first day of taking the class I was very unsure about what I was learning about. Before college, I took Digital Media & Television & Sound 2 at Harkness. I learned a lot of interesting information while I was attending. We also used Facebook discussions as well to get more input of peoples ideas rather than just speaking upon because in a society like ours today we are much attached to the internet more than we ever are. I was surprised after reading over 90 discussion posts everybody had something different or at least about the latest technology. I discussed YouTube because it's all about interactions. You can look up whatever you want, whenever you want & communicate with people all over the world!
